What a blessing it is to take the Gospel to those who have never heard! Two of Apostle Paul's greatest desires are expressed in Romans 15. First, the Apostle Paul wanted to preach the Gospel where it had never been preached. Secondly, he wanted to preach the Gospel in Spain.
Romans 15:20 It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation. Romans 15:23 But now that there is no more place for me to work in these regions, and since I have been longing for many years to see you, 24 I plan to do so when I go to Spain. I hope to visit you while passing through and to have you assist me on my journey there, after I have enjoyed your company for a while. Romans 15:28 So after I have completed this task and have made sure that they have received this fruit, I will go to Spain and visit you on the way.
Oh, how we love church planting in Zamora Spain. We love taking the Gospel back to the streets and villages where it is supposed to be preached; back to the streets where it not only saves souls but delivers sinners from slavery to sin and addiction.
The only Gospel message that fails to produce results is that which is never preached, but merely held in the heart and even highly esteemed.
Are we living in the last days? I don't know. According to the prophet Joel whom Peter quotes on the day of Pentecost we are living in the last days. The one thing I know is this. We are living in the only days that we have to preach the Gospel. There may be more people and more generations to come along, but the question is, what have we done?
